The violist Marc Sabbah (b. 1988, New York City) is an international soloist, chamber musician, and professor, praised as “a magnificent player” by Zubin Mehta and “The Paganini of viola” by Ivry Gitlis. At 23, he became the youngest principal viola and soloist of the Belgian National Orchestra (2012–2024).

A sought-after recitalist, Marc has performed worldwide, including Japan, China, Germany, Mexico, and across Europe, often premiering new works. He regularly collaborates with pianist Eliane Reyes, with whom he released the acclaimed album "AppassionAlto". He is a Cum Laude graduate of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, pupil of Sven Arne Tepl and Nobuko Imai, and prizewinner of major competitions including the Amsterdam National Viola Competition (1st Prize, 2013) and Manhattan International Music Competition (1st Grand Prize, 2016). He has performed as soloist with orchestras such as the Belgian National Orchestra, Athens State Orchestra, de Filharmonie Amsterdam, and Filarmonica del Desierto de Coahuila, and continues to inspire audiences and students worldwide through concerts, masterclasses, and innovative programs.

In May 2026, Marc Sabbah will release the monumental album Six Cello Suites (BWV 1007–1012) by J.S. Bach, arranged for viola, on the Swiss label Prospero Classical.
